The deal is to offer free music from the 4 labels in MySpace so as to generate advertising revenue from MySpace visitors. With about 40 million unique users of MySpace each month, MySpace is a perfect target for the music industry to attain the young’s attention and generate much revenue from the music advertising. Besides that, MySpace will also link the customers to Amazon, for those buying the music, and Jamster, for those buying ringtones. In this deal, MySpace is estimated to receive about as much as 60% of the revenue. Previously, MySpace has already hosted ringtones for its visitors. However, in view of the slowing growth of the ringtones business, MySpace and music industry took this revolutionary step that will create an intricate web that eases visitors to purchase the music that they want.
