Sony’s 3D Blu-ray Players Can Be Controlled By iPhone Or iPod Touch

Sony iPhone Blu-ray Remote App

Who would’ve ever thought that Sony would sign on to the dark side.  And by dark side I mean Apple.  As the years pass the Japanese consumer electronics company has slowly trickled out more and more devices that are either iPod or iPhone compatible.

Newest to the list is their line of 3D Blu-ray disc players, the BDP-S470 and S570. Not only are they WiFi enabled (or ready), stream the latest in online media and can playback 3D Blu-rays, but can be controlled by using your iPod Touch or iPhone remote.  Of course, both devices will have to be connected to the same network, but that ain’t no thing in an iPhone world.  Unfortunately, the PS3 is not supported, at least not at this time.

Neck Stretcher Or Traction Device, You Decide

Posted in Gadgets on February 27th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

Neck Traction

Neck stretching is a common practice amongst some African countries, so I’m a bit surprised to see an apparatus for the Western part of the world that appears to do just that.  In actually, it’s a Neck Traction device that uses a small hand driven pump to increase or decrease the level of support and as a result stretches the neck.  Supposedly, this helps reduce pain by ‘releasing neck pressure caused by pinched nerves’.  Honestly, the only thing I see this thing doing is make you look more retarded than a person wearing a neck brace or a dog with a lamp shade on its head.

Sony Bloggie 360 degree

The Sony Bloggie, otherwise know as the Sony Webbie – it’s an updated version – has been on the market for well over a year now…well at least the form factor has.  So that’s why I’m a bit surprised to just get word of their recently released add on camera kit, which includes not only the camera and a 4GB Memory Stick, but a 360 degree video accessory.  It, which is in fact a lens, mounts directly onto the camera and allows you to shoot video footage with a 360 degree perspective.  Wacky, I know, but perfect for a little recon or amateur paparazzi shooting. Smash Guitar’s Are 100 Percent Recyclable

smash_guitar_2

I really don’t understand this product.  The Japanese made Smash Guitars are cheap instruments that are manufactured from 100% recyclable materials beckoning the question, if you care that little about your guitar to smash it why would you care enough to send the broken pieces back to the company to be recycled??

The company claims that they will take all those busted shards and construct a new guitar and donate it to charity.  The electric guitars are available in the Telecaster mold and only cost $60 each.

Can I get a WTF?

Light Bulb Candle

This beautiful little light, designed by Helbert Ferreira and Remi Melander from the SystemDesignStudio in Barcelona, Spain, takes the functionality from a candle and combines it with the design of a light bulb.

This way the light is hidden and the light shows through the candle. As it consumes wax of interior of the light bulb, it also conserves the outer form of the candle for a longer time.

Check out the Bulb Candle and other nice products at systemdesignstudio.com.

Nooka Asset Organizer Wallet Doubles As A Chew Toy

I always like posts about weird and unconventional wallets.  This is definitely one of those.  I heard a tip somewhere that if you wrap a rubber band around your wallet that it’s less likely to fall out of your pocket.  Taking a hint from that age old proverb, the Asset Organizer from Nooka is a water resistant soft silicone rubber wallet that features three vertical compartment slots to hold money, receipts, keys, and more.

Available in 5 colors, each wallet is priced at $35.  Just don’t let your dog know you have one.
