Getting an iPad on the 3rd? Can’t wait to see what apps you want to buy for it once it arrives? Basically, do you have a lot of free time, enough to see 1,350 apps? Okay, cool. Appadvice has accessed Apple’s servers and found all the apps set for release for the tablet device. They’ve made a video scrolling through the wares, or you could check it out for yourself. That’s a lot of apps, folks. Personally, I want to try Scrabble.

Sony has released their latest PS3 firmware update today, bringing the console to version 3.21. The biggest part of the update, and the cause of much grumbling online, comes in the remove of the “Install Other OS” option from the console. That means no more Linux, folks. Sure, not too many people actually chose that option, but the ones that did are pretty upset.

Refusing to install the update keeps you off the PSN, and plenty of games won’t run if you’re not using Sony’s latest firmware. So yeah, bummer. Hackers are already trying to find workarounds to the update, though, but nothing’s out yet. Until then, either choose the penguin or choose the games.

Flight simulators have always intimidated me with their many buttons and switches, but others seem to like them. To appease those people, Mad Catz has now released a premium flight joystick for the Xbox 360. The Cyborg F.L.Y. 9 has a name and a look straight out of the 90’s, but I’m sure it will satisfy any serious flight-sim fan. Or maybe those who like the Banshees in Halo. It comes with a removable lap rest and is completely wireless, so those pesky wires don’t get in the way of you taking bogeys down.

The Cyborg F.L.Y. 9 will be available this spring for $100.

Bluetooth headsets. Love them or hate them, they serve a purpose, and Motorola is set to release the H17txt with added functionality to keep businessmen’s ears covered forever. The device utilizes MotoSpeak text-to-speech technology, which reads your text messages to you when your phone receives them, even the acronyms like “wtf.”

That software will be available for BlackBerry and Android phones. The headset also has CrystalTalk noise-canceling technology, Bluetooth 2.1 compatibility, and five hours of talk time/seven hours standby.

Pricing is currently unknown, but the device should be on sale from Verizon today.

PeeWee PC. Made you laugh, didn’t I? Well, this netbook isn’t for you, it’s for the kids. Coming from PeeWee PC, the PeeWee Power Laptop is designed for children, featuring a carry handle, kid-proof construction, and standard netbook specs, like a 1.66GHz Atom N450 processor. It doesn’t, however, contain a stylus touchscreen, like the company’s Classmate PC. So if junior is looking for something that he won’t break the first day, this might be a good choice.

The iPad’s arrival is imminent, and screenshots are being leaked out at a rapid pace that purport to show a variety of apps for the device. Of particular interest are ones from Netflix and ABC that would offer streaming video over WiFi. Watching free episodes of LOST and Netflix’s thousands of streaming titles on the iPad’s slick display sounds awesome to me. In addition, over 1,350 apps have been approved to be released on the iPad app store soon. That’s a lot of developer support, folks.

The screenshots legitimacy seems to be high — one of the images is hosted on Apple’s servers. But we won’t know for sure until April 3rd comes, and the coolest guy in the coffee shop is watching Grey’s Anatomy on one of these things.

So while the majority of us don’t have the hardware to support a USB 3.0 device, companies are still making these future forward gadgets.  PQI has a new line of USB 3.0 Hard Drives for your time capsule under the model name of H566.

Boasting 10x the transfer speeds of USB 2.0, the drives are available in 320GB, 500GB and 640GB of storage capacities and comes with the security software called Ur Fortress.  The PQI H566 is of course USB 2.0 backward compatible and measures in at 2.5 inches in length.  No word yet on pricing or availability.  Anybody care?
