It’s a pretty bold statement when a company says they’ve produced the most advanced product of its type in the company’s history, but if anything is gonna qualify for that label it is the DJM-2000.
At first blush it looks like your standard 4 channel DJ mixer. But take a closer look and you’ll notice a multitouch 5.8-inch touchscreen. Now I’m no DJ, but the DJM-2000 looks like it’s a game changer as far as mixing tracks on the fly goes. Sure, the touchscreen can let you control MIDI sequences and other MIDI gear, as well as apply effects to sounds, but what is really neat is the Frequency Mix Mode. Traditionally, DJs would just mix in a channel using a slider, but in Frequency Mix Mode DJs can select a specific frequency from the accompanying track or channel and mix only that frequency into the main track that is playing. Cool, huh?
Anyway, all you DJs wll be glad to here that it will go on sale this June. The downside is that it will cost $3000.

Remember Novothink’s Surge, the first ever Apple certified solar charging battery pack? It’s now available. You can score one for in black or white (other colors are coming soon) for $80 for the iPhone or $70 for the iPod Touch. Surprisingly the iPhone version has a smaller battery (1320mAH) compared to the iPod Touch version (1500mAH), but costs more.
Novothink, in their infinite amount of wisdom, also launched a free Solar Planner App that provides you with an estimate of how much sun exposure you’ll need per day for a full charge based on weather conditions and your everyday usage.

Sony Computer Entertainment has just announced that its motion controlling scenario titled Move is scheduled for a fall 2010 release. Looking to give Microsoft’s Project Natal a run for its motion sensing money, Move will require you to also purchase the PlayStation Eye Camera for full compatibility.
Additionally, the motion controller, which looks like some sort of Killer Clowns From Outer Space device, will also come with a sub-controller similar to the Wii Nunchuk to help you navigate the 3rd dimension. Using all 3 peripherals together will create a tight and precise representation in 3D space allowing for the gamer to be fully immersed while playing themselves in the game. Bring it on Lawnmower Man!
The Playstation Move utilizes some advanced motion sensors that include: a three-axis gyroscope, a three-axis accelerometer, and a terrestrial magnetic field sensor. These words might not mean much to the gamer right now, but once people start busting a “Move” they could easily become everyday jargon.

The PlayStation Move motion controller employs action buttons, an analog trigger, force feed back, and visual feedback via the color changing sphere. The Eye Camera will also detect the player’s voice and image for further immersion and augmentation.
Both controllers act like normal PS3 Gamepads that have lithium-ion rechargeable batteries and BlueTooth. No price has been set as multiple packages are likely to emerge, but word has it that over 36 publishers have stated their support and there should be over 20 games at launch time this fall.
What do you think PS3 boys and girls?

I glad this is finally happening. Merging rhythm games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band comes the PowerGig: Rise of the Six String. Using an actual six string guitar, PowerGig aims to teach its players some actual, tangible guitar tactics. Making its initial appearance at this year’s GDC, PowerGig at first glance resembles what you’d see in a GH or RB game, but the technique has changed in that you’ll be making chord formations on the guitar and strumming them to score.
PowerGig will see more exposure at this year’s E3, and Seven54 Studios promises a full scale guitar (the current one is 2/3 scale) as well as a drum module. No price or release date has been set but I’m sure this is the genre buster music gamers have been dreaming about. Or not. What do you think?

I kind of missed this. I don’t know how since I’m pretty excited about Splinter Cell: Conviction. In any case, here is probably what will be the most detailed look at the game’s multiplayer experience before the game launches in April. I can’t say I’m totally blow away, but I think that’s just me feeding myself a healthy dose of skepticism after endless delays and reworks.

If I were a cat burglar knocking off houses during the day I’d probably wanna ring the doorbell and see if anyone is home before committing my B&E. If your line of work happens to be such, you better watch out for the Wireless Doorbell Monitor With Camera. A small lens embedded in the door bell is activated and records to a built-in SD card whenever the bell is rung, thus recording your ugly mug. And the camera ain’t half bad, boasting a 2 megapixel sensor with a 1 Lux minimum rating. Just don’t forget to put in fresh AAA batteries now and again. (more…)

Ready to get your battle cry on? Street Fighter IV for the iPhone and iPod Touch is now available in the iTunes store for $9.99. The majority of the ratings are 5 star, with only a handful of 3 or less.
Sorry, still no word on when and if Tekken 6 will get ported over to the handset.

Sometimes the best way to get the kiddies to ‘pick up what your laying down’ is to put that learning into a toy. We’ve already seen the Hydrogen powered RC car, so it’s really no surprise to see a wind power generated one emerge on the market.
The Tamiya Loopwing Wind Generator uses a special “loop wing” design that is said to “secure high efficiency in power generation”. Basically, that means no matter the wind speed this thing can generate some energy. Attach the included car and you can recharge its batteries for up to 2 minutes of run time for each 10 minute charge. For those extra windy days there’s even a second gear that improves power generation. And for those days when there is no wind there is a built-in handle that lets you run with the device in hand. If you love you some Iron Man than you’re gonna love this full sized, fully licensed replica Arc Reactor. Yup, it’s the exact same power cell that resides in Tony Stark’s chest, minus the actual power part of course. Pop in 4 AA batteries to see it light up, or just leave it residing in the Pepper Potts stand for that on the mantel look.
ThinkGeek is looking for $150, but that might be justified seeing as it contains a set of ultra bright glowing LEDs and is made from machined aluminum, stainless steel, and custom molded plastic. Or you can go with the cheapo, Halloween custome version for $8.
Does this mean we’ll see the Armor Suitcase next year?
